Many thanks for submitting this engrossing, well designed and highly successful project/report which exceeds normal expectations of work at this level. This is a highly polished and critically engaged piece that brims with ideas and observations on public history, historiography and insights that go well beyond purely local history.
I am particularly struct by the discussion of the historiography of public history and your use of Watts’ text as a counter to what you see as the nostalgia, defensiveness and insularity of much contemporary historical practice.
This succeeds on many levels and is a model of its kind. Well done.
